About the UNT Multicultural Center:

The UNT Multicultural Center was established with the goal that it would be a place where students and community members could experience the cultural wealth of the University, with a central purpose to teach culture through student involvement.  Programs and activities sponsored by the Multicultural Center are developed with the intention of increasing the level of awareness, understanding, and consciousness regarding the under-represented cultures and histories of people of African, Hispanic/Latino, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Native American descents.

The Multicultural Center is responsible for planning University-wide activities during Hispanic Heritage Month, Native American Month, Black History Month, Asian/Pacific Heritage Month, and assists in the planning of Women's History Month, International Week, and many other cultural programs.

In addition to working closely with a number of student organizations, the Multicultural Center has established the Alton and Renay Scales Ethnic Studies Library, which maintains a basic collection of works relevant to the experiences of African, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, and Native American Peoples. These resources are available to all university students, faculty, and staff for research or general information purposes.

The Center also features a lounge area for students, computers and printers for students' use, and a photocopying service for student organizations.  Please come by the Center today-  relax between classes, visit with friends, or catch up on the latest "cultural news".   Remember, we are

Your Window to the World !
