Cheylon Brown, Director


    Cheylon Brown is the Director for the Multicultural Center at the University of North Texas.  She works extensively with students and student organizations to develop and enhance their leadership skills as well as encourage them to actively participate in community service projects.  Ms. Brown is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where she received her bachelor of Arts Degree in English and a Graduate Certification in Volunteer Resource Management.  She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Higher Education at UNT.

     Along with her various duties at the University of North Texas, she serves on the Advisory Board for the UNT National Youth Sports Program, the Texas Association of Black Personnel in Higher Education, the Chair of The Kuumba Nia Young Adult Council of the Black Academy of Arts and Letters in Dallas, Texas,  Vice President of the Heads Up! Foundation and the Texas State Coordinator for the Association of Black Culture Centers. Ms. Brown is also an advisor for the UNT NAACP, the Amazin' Zeta Eta Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and Models of Style Exposed. She is also the Chaplain of Followers of Christ United in Spirit (FOCUS).

     She is an active member of the Community Outreach Ministry of Irving, where she serves as Youth Pastor.

     Ms. Brown is the recipient of numerous UNT awards such as the 1999 Eagle Partner Award, 2000-2001 SGA Staff Member of the Year Award, 2001 Student Leadership Award, 2001 Greek Supporter Award, 2002 Who's Who Among American Colleges & Universities and many more.
