Committee Description: The Graduate Council shall consist of the following members: The dean of the Toulouse
School of Graduate Studies, the associate dean of the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies, the vice president for
academic affairs or his/her designee, the academic deans of the colleges and schools or their designees, the registrar,
the dean of libraries, one member with graduate faculty status elected from each of the eight Faculty Senate voting
groups by graduate faculty within the group, four faculty with graduate faculty status appointed at large by the Faculty
Senate, and two graduate students selected by the Graduate Student Council. The Faculty Senate shall endeavor
to appoint at-large members that represent disciplines not already represented on the Graduate Council. The dean of
the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies shall serve as administrative co-chair of the Graduate Council. Deans and
their designees that have full or part-time administrative appointments will be ex-officio non-voting members. Designees
who are full time faculty members will be ex-officio voting. Voting members shall elect a faculty chair for a one year
term at the beginning of each year.

Terms: All members serve 3 year terms from Sept. 1 - August 31. All are elected except for the 4 at-large members who
are appointed by the Faculty Senate Executive Committee or the Committee on Committees. Of these 4, 2 must be
Graduate Category III and 2 may be graduate faculty of any category.

Membership: Consists of a maximum of 13 members. One faculty member elected from each of the Faculty Senate voting
groups and five members elected by and from the faculty at large. All members shall have full-time, tenured faculty status at UNT

Committee Membership: The UPTC shall be composed of 13 tenured faculty members. One member shall be elected by and from the faculty of each of the Faculty Senate voting groups and may hold the rank of tenured associate or full professor.

Term: 3 year terms beginning Sept. 1 and ending on August 31st.
