General Academic Scholarships

Most General Academic Scholarship awards range from $200 - $2500. Contingent on available funding, some scholarships may or may not be awarded during each academic year.

Recipients of most General Academic Scholarships awarded by the University Scholarship Committee must enroll for and successfully complete at least twelve undergraduate or nine graduate semester hours of coursework at UNT during each long semester (Fall and Spring) they are on a scholarship.

Students who are not U.S. citizens are eligible for all scholarships unless otherwise indicated. Generally speaking, international students must have completed at least one semester of college course work in the U.S. before they can be considered for General Academic Scholarships.

Submitting a General Academic Scholarship application will automatically place a student into the competition for a variety of scholarships for which the student is eligible. New students must have a UNT ID number to complete the application. UNT ID numbers are assigned to students after they apply to UNT.

Newly created scholarships will use a paper application which will only be found in the Scholarship Library, located in our office on the second floor of the Eagle Student Services Center. These paper applications will have varying deadline dates. It is recommended that students visit the Scholarship Library throughout the year because donors can make scholarships available at any time.
