The Panhellenic Council
The University of North Texas Panhellenic Association currently represents the following sororities:
The Panhellenic Association is the governing body of the eight National Panhellenic Conference sororities at the University of North Texas. Panhellenic is an organization established to foster interfraternal relationships, to help collegiate chapters of the National Panhellenic Conference member groups, and to assist in maintaining the highest scholastic and social standards. The council enables the sororities to work together more effectively on campus.
The individual organizations are dedicated to personal development, academic achievement, leadership growth, and service to the campus and community. Activities may include community service projects, educational programs, leadership training, study halls, sisterhood retreats, intramural sports and fraternity mixers. Above all, sororities foster close friendships that will last through college and beyond. Panhellenic meets weekly to discuss the current issues facing the Greek Community, plan upcoming events, and serve as a link between UNT administration and individual organizations.

Panhellenic Creed
We, as Undergraduate Members of women's fraternities, stand for scholarship, for the guarding of good health, for the maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony, with its best possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities.
We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live.
Recruitment
Membership Information
No formal recruitment exists during the Spring semester for Panhellenic sororities. However, chapters with membership openings will conduct an "informal" recruitment in which they invite interested women to casual outings or activities at their chapter house or lodge. If you would like to be added to a list of interested women, please email your name, phone, and email to greeklife@unt.edu. Your contact information will be given to all chapters participating in informal Spring recruitment.
Students interested in Spring membership opportunities should see the following information:
Recruitment Recommendation Letters/Forms
Some sororities require a recommendation from an alumna member of that sorority before the sorority can offer her membership. A recommendation simply introduces a woman to a sorority to help the sorority members become acquainted with her prior to recruitment. However, it is important to understand that if a sorority requires a recommendation, it is the individual sorority's responsibility to obtain that recommendation.
Each national sorority has its own guidelines and often its own recommendation forms that its alumna members must use. The UNT Panhellenic Association does not provide these forms nor any information regarding an individual sorority's recommendation requirements. If an alumna is not familiar with her own sorority's regulations, she should contact the national sorority.
