Thrive in a student-centered community
Student services
All enrollment-related services, including the graduate school admissions office, are conveniently located in the Eagle Student Services Center. The ESSC after-hours desk is open on Saturday mornings and many evenings; for details, go to essc.unt.edu.
UNT offers a full array of student services. Chestnut Hall, which opened in January 2007, includes the Health and Wellness Center, the Career Center, the Student Money Management Center, and Counseling and Testing Services. Located in other campus buildings are Student Legal Services, Disability Accommodation and Cooperative Education and Internships.
Graduate students can participate in any of the university's more than 300 student organizations, including the Graduate Student Council.
Student Recreation Center
Our huge, $31 million Pohl Recreation Center includes a climbing wall, weight room, cardio zone, soccer gym, indoor jogging track and two pools. Currently enrolled students are automatically members through the recreation fee added to tuition.
The rec center has been very popular with students since it opened in Fall 2003. Visit www.unt.edu/recsports for more information.
University Union
At the heart of the campus is the University Union, with its food court, coffee shop, convenience store, bookstores, bank, post office, art gallery, and billiards/darts/game area.
UNT is one of only two universities in the nation that allows students to pay for food and other purchases with biometric finger scans. The secure payment system, iMye, deducts money from an established account.
FACTOID
UNT's Pohl Recreation Center was selected as an outstanding sports facility by the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association in 2004.
