The University of North Texas is a member of the National Student Exchange (NSE), a consortium of more than 190 colleges and universities in the United States and Canada that provides opportunities for students to study at participating member institutions while remaining enrolled at their home university.  An exchange through NSE can enrich your college experience and provide many opportunities for personal growth.

Where is the University of North Texas?

The University of North Texas is located in Denton, a town of about 75,000 people in the North Central region of Texas. Denton is a suburb of Dallas and Fort Worth, and is located about 35 miles north of Dallas and about 30 miles north of Fort Worth. Denton has two universities, UNT and Texas Woman's University, and is a thriving town with lots of music. That is no surprise, given UNT's prominence as the home of one of the finest jazz studies programs in the world. You may want to go to Dallas to enjoy its many attractions, including the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Fair Park Music Hall, and the new American Airlines Arena. Fort Worth is, of course, where the West begins, and you will want to visit many attractions there, including the Kimbell and Amon Carter Art Museums, Sundance Square, and the old Stockyards. Several professional sports teams make their home in the area, including the Dallas Cowboys, the Mavericks, the Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Stars.

How do I get to and from the airport?

Denton's own North Texas Airport Transportation’s phone number is 1-800-634-6231 and their website is www.northtexasairporttransportation.com for transportation to and from the airports (DFW or LOVE FIELDS).  You must mention that you are a UNT student to get the student rate. Be prepared to give the North Texas Airport Transportation the following information: airline, flight number, and time of arrival. North Texas Airport Transportation will notify you of pickup locations at the airport. The North Texas Airport Transportation does airport pick-ups from 6:45 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., so please plan accordingly.

Additionally, taxis are available at the airports.  Plan a minimum of $55.00 plus tip (total $65-70.00) for transportation from the airport (DFW or LOVE FIELDS) to UNT – Denton, TX.
