  Employee Assistance Program

We handle life’s stresses in a number of ways, and usually we cope quite well. Sometimes, however, things can get out of hand and may disrupt our work, our lives and the lives of those around us. Your Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to confidentially help you deal with life's stresses and the variety of personal problems that can develop from them.

  • Relationship problems
  • Depression or anxiety
  • Child and elder care
  • Legal issues
  • Financial issues
  • Alcohol and other drug problems
  • Other problems

  How does the EAP work?
The EAP provides short-term counseling and referrals to the qualified employee (or the employee's dependents) for up to 6 counseling sessions per problem event.  This benefit is confidential and free and does not require the filing of any insurance claims.  If the problem cannot be addressed within the prescribed EAP visits, EAP counselors will assist with referrals using the University's insurance plan or local community resources.

How can you reach the EAP?
It is as easy as picking up the telephone!  To contact the EAP, simply call 1-800-343-3822 (any time 24 hours a day, 365 days a year) to speak to an EAP professional or set up an appointment with an EAP counselor.  An individual may also contact the HR department anonymously at 565-4246 to obtain the EAP number.

Does the EAP cost anything?
There are never any charges to participants for EAP services. Assessment visits, crisis intervention counseling, and short-term counseling are provided free of charge. Fees for any additional help which may be recommended are usually based on what you can afford and in some cases, may be covered by insurance or other benefits.

Is the EAP confidential?
Yes! Alliance Work Partners adheres to all applicable state and federal confidentiality laws. We strictly protect the right to privacy for all employees and their family members.

What if I have a crisis?
Licensed clinicians are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to help with any type of crisis. Simply call your EAP, and you will be immediately connected to a professional who can help.
