RIPS was established in 1972 to maintain a relationship with retired faculty and staff through social events. The Development Office along with an advisory committee plan the events for the group. Currently RIPS holds four events each year. The advisory committee encourages input concerning what type of activities the group would enjoy.

Members of the current committee are Frank Halstead, chair; Evelyn Black, Claude Cheek, Alma Clark, Bill Cornelius, Jan Dobbs, Ann Enos, Pat Gulley, Margaret Hastings, Fred Pole, Rita Powell, Peggy Richardson, Eloise Sears and Richard Simms.  Ex-officio members are Karen Selby and Pat Sloan from the Development Office and Lisa Garner, Retiree Services Coordinator.
