Downloading UNT Word marks and letter marks

Why use the preferred wordmark and lettermark combination?

As part of the current phase of UNT’s ongoing branding campaign, we encourage you to use the preferred lettermark/wordmark combination so that in the future the lettermark will be recognizable as our brand.

The wordmark (for example, the words University of North Texas or University of North Texas System) clearly states who we are. It is the most easily identifiable element on official university and system publications.

While the UNT lettermark (the letters UNT) is an important element of our visual identity, it is the shorthand used to identify the University of North Texas. UNT is well known in our region and the state and recognized in other areas of the country, but not everyone knows what UNT stands for. Using the lettermark and wordmark together makes sure there is no misunderstanding about the reference to UNT. The combination also strengthens the lettermark, and with repeated use, eventually everyone who sees the letters UNT will know that they stand for the University of North Texas.

Formats and sizes

All university marks are available in multiple formats (Adobe Illustrator™ EPS, GIF, PNG, and Microsoft™ WMF Clip art) and in three sizes. Marks should not be enlarged as this causes the marks to distort, but may be reduced if needed. To avoid distortion, chose a mark one size larger than you need and reduce it to the size needed.

In the case of banners, use the Illustrator EPS files. Printing Services and Design Works have available the Illustrator files and will be able to help you with your needs.

What you need

To download the marks, you’ll need a UNT EUID (Enterprise User ID) and password. Vendors should contact the hiring department to ask for the specific marks needed. Hiring departments should not give vendors their EUID and passwords to provide access.
