A private party for UNT students at Traditions Field featuring a performance by Grammy-nominee Bowling for Soup.
This is the ceremony where Gretchen M. Bataille is formally endowed with the powers and responsibilities of the presidency. Attendees will include the UNT community as well as delegates from national learned, professional and honor societies; delegates from colleges and universities throughout the nation; local, state and national community leaders and elected officials; and others.
A communitywide picnic at Traditions Field (the football practice area immediately north of Fouts Field and west of North Texas Blvd.) will follow the formal ceremony. This is a chance for the whole UNT family to meet.
The celebration of President Bataille's installation will carry over into the evening at a black tie dinner and dance in the University Union. This event, the Emerald Ball (sold out), is intended to raise funds for undergraduate need-based scholarships. Individual tickets cost $150 and sponsorships range from $5,000 to $50,000.
Tickets are still available for the Celebration Dance for $75 per person. The dance begins at 9:30 p.m. in the Union and also is black tie.
Help us to make the Emerald Ball and the Celebration Dance a success
