the inauguration of Gretchen M. Bataille as UNT's 14th president. The installation ceremony and accompanying events are designed to showcase the university's excellence and raise money for student scholarships. Please join us in honoring this tradition in higher learning.

Formal ceremony where Gretchen M. Bataille is formally endowed with the powers and responsibilities of the presidency. Attendees will include the UNT community as well as delegates from national learned, professional and honor societies; delegates from colleges and universities throughout the nation; local, state and national community leaders and elected officials; and others.


Campus picnic - April 13

As severe weather is likely on Friday, April 13, the community picnic has been moved to the Coliseum concourse. The Picnic will follow the formal ceremony. This is a chance for the whole UNT family to meet.

Emerald Ball and Celebration Dance-April 13

The celebration of President Bataille's installation will carry over into the evening at a black tie dinner and dance in the University Union. This event, the Emerald Ball (sold out), is intended to raise funds for undergraduate need-based scholarships. Individual tickets cost $150 and sponsorships range from $5,000 to $50,000.


Tickets are still available for the Celebration Dance at $75 per person. The dance begins at 9:30 p.m. in the Union and also is black tie.
