Commencement set Aug. 11

Herman L. Totten, Regents Professor and associate dean of the School of Library and Information Sciences, was chosen by the Faculty Senate to be the featured speaker during the general convocation portion of UNT commencement ceremonies Aug. 11.

The general convocation begins at 12:30 p.m. in the UNT Coliseum and will include the hooding of doctoral degree candidates.

Every year the Faculty Senate selects an outstanding faculty member to be the speaker for the summer commencement ceremony. In addition to teaching at UNT, Totten serves as president of the Texas Library Association.

At 2:30 p.m., commencement begins in the Coliseum for the College of Business Administration, the School of Community Service, the School of Library and Information Sciences, the College of Music and the School of Visual Arts. Commencement ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Education and the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management begin at 4:30 p.m.

A reception for all graduates and their guests will be held from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the University Union Courtyard.
