Information Systems Research Center The Information Systems Research Center is an integral part of the Dallas-Fort Worth high-tech and business communities. Founded in 1986, the center facilitates relationships between UNT and industry, government and not-for-profit organizations. It provides research, recruiting, learning and networking opportunities; funds research and scholarship; and offers seminars, conducts research and publishes reports on technology and management topics. The ISRC's annual Seminar Series is the centerpiece of the center's educational activities. Seminar speakers are generally recognized as preeminent sources of world-class information technology expertise, leading-edge research and IT practices. The center has special relationships with several world-renowned IT experts Ed Yourdon, Howard Rubin, Capers Jones and john Zachman are "ISRC Faculty Fellows." The center also sponsors a members-only student recruiting night in September and co-sponsors a career fair in February for students in business computer information systems and computer science. Current ISRC research includes projects in the Department of Veterans Affairs and the city of Denton (both in collaboration with UNT's Center for Productivity and Quality and the Center for the Study of Work Teams) and topics such as enterprise architecture, e-commerce, digital government and technology management. The center has nearly doubled its membership since June 2000 and now has 21 member organizations, including local cities and major corporations. The center is funded through membership contributions.
