Regents raise board-designated tuition $6 per semester credit hour
Acting on a recommendation from President Norval Pohl, the regents granted Jacqueline Lambiase promotion to the rank of associate professor of journalism with tenure during the board's meeting March 23. The promotion and awarding of tenure will take effect Sept. 1, for the 2005-06 academic year.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month The UNT Women's Center is sponsoring a series of events in April to raise awareness for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Mary Pastorius, director of the UNT Women's Center and Volunteer Center, says Sexual Assault Awareness Month's purpose is to dispel rape myths, examine sex role stereotypes, provide suggestions for protection against sexual assault, and help victims get in touch with resources that can help them.
Staff Council hears update on campus master plan, proposed child care center
The UNT Staff Council heard a report from Richard Rafes, senior vice president for administration, regarding the university's master plan for the campus during the group's March 7 meeting.
Work continues on UNT's Academic Plan A 16-member steering committee has been working this spring with Howard Johnson, provost and vice president for academic affairs, and his office to write and revise UNT's Academic Plan. Johnson says the plan will serve as a roadmap to guide the university's academic future and clearly define its institutional identity. Senate approves tenure appeals process resolution The UNT Faculty Senate approved a resolution during its March 9 meeting recommending that individuals whose 2004 tenure appeals are still pending be granted an additional terminal year if their cases "remain with a negative decision regarding tenure."
