UNT expert
explains when, how parents should talk to their children about war In the midst of war, high anxiety and stress, the best thing parents can do for their children is learn to handle their own fears. Garry Landreth,
UNT Regents Professor of counseling, development and higher education
and director of the Center for Play Therapy, says that parents should
deal with their own anxieties and fears by talking with their spouse or
friends, because more than ever their children need a sense of normalcy
and calm. But this doesn't mean completely hiding the truth from
children.
