Keep
your ear to the telephone
something new and improved is coming. 1. Dial 4411. 2. Enter your four-digit telephone extension followed by the # key. 3. Create a new four- to eight-digit password, other than your telephone extension, by following simple voice prompts. Passwords protect the privacy of faculty and staff and secure the system from hackers. 4. Enter your recorded name and personal greeting by following simple voice prompts. Faculty and staff with saved messages in the old voice mail system will be able to access them for two more weeks by pressing 7 from the new mailbox and entering their old password. These saved messages cannot be transferred to the new system. Benefits of the new system include a reminder service, which allows the user to prerecord a message to be delivered at a future date and time up to one year in advance, and speed and auditory volume control. For more information on the improved voice mail system, current customers can look for their new user guide in campus mail or visit www.unt.edu/telecom.
