Spring commencement ceremonies May 11graduate

May 11 will signal the end of late-night cram sessions and mile-long research papers for about 2,000 UNT seniors graduating that day.

J. McDonald Williams, chair of Trammell Crow Co. in Dallas, will deliver the commencement address and receive an honorary doctor of public service degree.

A catalyst in the development of the UNT System Center at Dallas, Williams has served on the fund-raising committee and has contributed personal funds to demonstrate strong community support for building the center.

The general convocation is at 12:30 p.m. in the UNT Coliseum. UNT President Norval Pohl will welcome graduates and guests, and doctoral candidates will be hooded. Following the general convocation, ceremonies will be held in the Coliseum for individual schools and colleges. Commencement for the College of Business Administration, School of Community Service, School of Library and Information Sciences, College of Music and School of Visual Arts begin at 2:30 p.m. Ceremonies for the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Education and the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management start at 4:30 p.m.

A reception for all candidates and guests will take place from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Gateway Center Ballroom.
