Annual jazz festival begins today in Addison

Swing into spring at the fourth annual North Texas Jazz Festival in Addison April 2-4 at the Hotel Inter Continental, 15201 Dallas Parkway.

A collaboration between UNT jazz studies and the town of Addison, the festival features performances by top jazz musicians working in the business today and emerging talent among the participating middle school, high school, community college and university bands.

Visit www.addisontexas.net for more information about the event.

This year's lineup includes the John Pizzarelli Trio featuring Ray Kennedy on piano and Martin Pizzarelli on bass, the James Williams Quintet, the One O'Clock and Two O'Clock Lab Bands, Sebastian Whittaker and the Creators and more.

In addition, new to this year's festival is a free presentation of Hal Miller's private, rare collection of jazz film and video. Miller is the curator of the world's most comprehensive personal jazz video collections with more than 9,000 items that serve as a primary resource for the major television networks and independent producers, including the last three episodes of Ken Burns' Jazz series for PBS.
