Maya Angelou to speak at UNT April 20

UNT's Division of Equity and Diversity will host a performance by Maya Angelou at 7 p.m. April 20 in the UNT Coliseum. She will be presented with a UNT honorary doctor of humane letters degree.

UNT presented King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand with an honorary doctor of music composition and performance degree on March 17 during a special ceremony in Hua Hin in Prachuabkirikan Province.

Major retailer touts UNT's merchandising program as one of the best in the nation

UNT has one of the best merchandising programs in the nation, according to Roland Hearns, vice president of recruitment and placement for Saks Inc. Hearns recognized UNT's program and research conducted by two UNT faculty members at the National Retail Federation's annual convention in January in New York City.

Economist: Elite female college basketball players worth $300,000 a season

With a majority supporting legal marital status for same-sex couples and decreasing penalties for marijuana possession, respondents to a UNT student survey are slightly more liberal than respondents to the University of California at Los Angeles' most recent American Freshman survey.
