The luncheon is from noon to 1:45 p.m. at the Adams Mark Hotel, located at 400 North Olive Street in Dallas. Sponsored by the UNT College of Education and KERA public television in Dallas, the event will gather key business, industry, education and community leaders in the North Texas area to discuss the importance of education to preparing a future workforce for the region. "The dedication to the creation of a high-quality, seamless educational system from pre-kindergarten to college for all North Texas students is critical for this region today and in the future," says Jean Keller, dean of UNT's College of Education. "The additional purpose of the luncheon is to generate scholarships for future teachers." Scholarships generated will help prepare teachers to educate students in the 170 school districts in the North Texas area.
