The award was one of nine CASE honors earned by University Communications and Marketing. Public information officer Rufus Coleman was honored for his entry "Overcoming the Jitters: Rehab Mystery goes Hollywood for Pulitzer-Prize-Winning Country Boy" in general feature writing, which appeared in the Spring 2001 issue of The North Texan. A group of articles written by Kelley Reese, assistant director of news and information, and public information officers Nancy Kolsti and Cathy Cashio earned an award in the medical/scientific feature writing category. Reese's article, "The Sound of Healing," appeared in the Spring 2001 issue of The North Texan. Kolsti's article is titled "This is Spinal Research," and it appeared in the Fall 2001 issue of The North Texan. Cashio's article is titled "Waiting to Inhale," which appeared in the Summer 2001 issue of The North Texan. To read all four articles, go to www.unt.edu/northtexan. Senior photographer Angilee Wilkerson received two honors one in the color photography candid category for her photo "Faith Under Attack," and one in the black and white structured category for her photo "Only the Educated are Free." "Faith Under Attack" appeared in the Winter 2001 issue of The North Texan. To view the photo, go to www.unt.edu/northtexan. "Only the Educated are Free" has appeared in printed advertisements in Texas Monthly. Photographer Mike Woodruff won an award in the color photography structured category for his photo "Dr. Dan Dimitrijevich Tissue Engineering." Laura Short, capital campaign senior writer, was awarded in the publications writing category for her article, "An Act of Leadership: Campaign Update," which appeared in the Summer 2001 issue of The North Texan. Betty Hilliard, senior marketing specialist, received an honor for the UNT System Center at Dallas spring semester recruitment campaign in the print advertising projects category. One individual publication was honored with a CASE award. Resource, UNT's research magazine, won in the category of magazine design complete unit. In addition to its CASE awards, UCM also received an Admissions Marketing Report award for an advertisement titled "Only the Educated are Free," which appeared in Texas Monthly magazine.
