Honors, Alumni, University Day April 27

UNT celebrates Honors Day, Alumni Appreciation Day and University Day on April 27. The Honors Day ceremony begins at 3 p.m. in Winspear Hall at the Murchison Performing Arts Center. A reception follows in the Murchison lobby.

The featured speaker is Larry Jobe, a UNT Distinguished Alumnus. He was one of the youngest men to serve as assistant secretary for administration in the Department of Commerce in the Nixon administration. He also received a presidential commendation for improving federal financial management. Jobe now serves as chair of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce's Committee on Minority Affairs.

The Alumni Appreciation Day luncheon starts at noon in the University Union, Silver Eagle Suite. The Alumni Awards banquet reception begins at 6:30 p.m with a dinner following at 7:30 p.m. in the University Union, Golden Eagle Suite. Call 565-2900 or e-mail sloan@unt.edu for ticket information.

The University Day festival begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Library Mall with live music, carnival events and concessions. Activities continue until 2 p.m.
