Administrators to propose 2 percent merit raise pools for UNT faculty and staff

UNT plans to ask the UNT System Board of Regents this month to approve the proposed 2005-06 budget, which includes more than $4 million for salary improvements, says Phil Diebel, vice president for finance and business affairs.

UNT to use multimillion-dollar bequest to fund unique research of behavior analysis

UNT's Department of Behavior Analysis has now received most of the more than $3 million that Beatrice H. Barrett left to the department upon her death in 2003. Barrett was the former director of the Behavior Prosthesis Laboratory at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Waltham, Mass., and a prominent behavioral researcher.

UNT opens Honors College for Fall 2005

About 900 students are enrolled in UNT's Honors College for its inaugural year, which kicked off Aug. 1 with a celebration attended by dozens of faculty members, students and graduates.

Kick off — Gloria Cox, dean of UNT's new Honors college, cuts the cake at a reception celebrating the college's opening on Aug. 1. The college takes the place of UNT's honors program. Applications for enrollment have increased 30 percent since the announcement to create the college was made earlier this year.
