Applications are now available for the UNT Leadership Texas Scholarship, sponsored by the UNT Commission on the Status of Women and funded by the Office of the President. The scholarship pays for tuition and assists with the application fee and travel and lodging expenses for the Leadership Texas program, which encourages women to excel in leadership roles in the corporate, public and community sectors. Each year, about 100 women are selected to participate in the program. The UNT scholarship winner will attend five three-day sessions throughout the year in various U.S. cities. The sessions provide women leaders with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of leadership by working and interacting with other experts in many fields. All female full-time faculty and staff are encouraged to apply. One applicant will be selected as the UNT nominee by the UNT alumni of the Leadership Texas program and UNT President Norval Pohl. Applications are available in the Office of Equity and Diversity in the Administration Building, Room 121, or at www.unt.edu/edo/csw.htm. The deadline for submitting an application is Sept. 3. For more information, contact Cassandra Berry, associate vice president for equity and diversity and UNT Commission on the Status of Women liaison, at 565-2456, or visit womensresources.org.
