UNT collegiate license plates available

UNT supporters, including faculty and staff members, have an opportunity to show their pride and provide scholarship money by purchasing UNT collegiate license plates for their vehicles.

The UNT plates were recently redesigned and sport an official UNT logo. They can be customized with a six-letter message or name.

The plates are available for a fee of $30 in addition to the fee charged by the county motor vehicle registration office. Customization costs an additional fee. Out of each $30 purchase, $25 is sent back to the university to be used for scholarships, while the motor vehicle registration office retains $5 for processing.

Last year, the UNT License Plate Scholarship Program distributed about $6,000 to UNT students who were Texas residents, enrolled at least half time, who demonstrated financial need. Applications for the special plates are available at most county motor vehicle registration offices or on the Texas Department of Transportation web site at www.dot.state.tx.us.
