KNTU, UNT Observatory named to D Magazine's ‘Best of Big D' lists

KNTU-FM, UNT's student-run radio station, and the UNT Observatory were recognized in D Magazine's annual "Best of Big D" issue.

KNTU (88.1 FM) was named "Best Radio Station" in the arts and culture category, while the UNT Observatory, located at 9103 Locust Street north of campus, was recognized for "Best Stargazing" in the nightlife section. The D Magazine staff noted that KNTU is the "only true jazz station" available to Dallas listeners and praised the station's eclectic selections.

The staff praised the UNT Observatory's open houses on the first Saturday of every month, where high-powered telescopes are free to all after dusk and the locale has so few lights that patrons need flashlights to find their way back to their cars.
