RENOVATION OF AND ADDITION TO UNIVERSITY SERVICES BUILDING

PERTINENT FACTS

The Athletic Department requires additional facilities to develop fully its current programs and to reach its potential for the future.  The University Services Building (USB) is located near Fouts Field as shown on the enclosure.  The building will provide the required space and the logical location for an expanded Athletic Department.  The current occupants of the building require additional space for their operations and a proposal is being submitted for approval to provide the added space at the UNT Research Park facility.  The proposed USB project includes renovating approximately 47,960 gross square feet (GSF) and constructing a small addition of approximately 5,700 GSF.

Architectural firms were invited to submit their qualifications for design work and preparation of a cost estimate.  A review and evaluation process of the twenty submittals has identified the three firms shown below as the best qualified of the twenty.

                        1.         F & S Partners

                        2.         HKS

                        3.         Hahnfeld/Hoffer/Stanford

Time restrictions and other priorities of work did not permit identification of the best qualified of the three firms at this time.
