Help for busted holiday diets

The holidays are near and so are the consequences of eating too many helpings of turkey, pie and other holiday trimmings.

UNT Recreational Sports offers a body check-up for faculty and staff who are members of the Student Recreation Center in the form of a $30 fitness assessment. The one-hour assessment, which measures blood pressure, flexibility, body fat and heart rate, allows you to create realistic goals to trim down your figure. Also offered are $30 personal training sessions to customize workouts.

In addition, UNT Recreational Sports and the Student Health and Wellness Center offer free nutrition seminars open to everyone. The first seminar next semester is the "Top 10 Foods You Should Never Eat," offered from noon to 1 p.m. Jan. 27 in Room 205 of the Student Recreation Center.

Spring recreation center memberships are $75 and faculty and staff may use two options to pay through payroll deduction. Sign up by Jan. 12 for $18.75 per month over the course of four months, or sign up by Feb. 11 for $25 per month over the course of three months. For more membership information, contact the membership ser-vices desk at (940) 369-8347.
