State Employee Charitable Campaign reaches goal

Contributions to the 2004 State Employee Charitable Campaign totaled more than $147,000, with 31 percent participation of UNT faculty and staff. The amount surpasses the university goal to raise $130,000. The theme for this year's campaign was "Committed to a Stronger Community."

"The UNT community is stronger because of its support and generosity to the State Employee Charitable Campaign," says Sharon Norman, assistant director of business services and co-chair of the SECC committee. "The campaign supports more than 400 charities, and contributions truly make a difference."

Twenty-four separate fundraisers added to the success of the campaign during October.

About 138 SECC department and unit coordinators volunteered their time and energy to help faculty and staff understand the benefits of supporting the campaign. The 2004 SECC co-chairs Norman and Jean Keller, dean of the College of Education, say they appreciate the support and assistance of these coordinators.
