School of Visual Arts faculty member to participate in Leadership Texas program

Jacqueline Chanda, associate professor of visual arts and chair of the art history/art education division, learned in November that she was chosen to serve in the Leadership Texas program after a group of the program's alumni selected her as UNT's nominee in September.Texas

UNT will provide her with a scholarship to cover tuition and travel expenses for the 2002 session of the program.

"I chair a division and I am very interested in furthering my leadership position," Chanda says.

Leadership Texas encourages women to excel in leadership roles in the corporate, public and community sectors. Each year, about 100 women who have distinguished themselves as leaders in their communities and organizations are selected to participate in the program. The women attend five three-day sessions throughout the year in various U.S. cities. The sessions provide women leaders with the opportunity to expand their knowledge of leadership by working and interacting with other experts in many fields.
