Almost 3,500 people provide input for UNT's branding campaign

Nearly 3,500 people left opinions and comments online during a 10-day period that allowed the university family to have a say about multiple new graphic identity images being developed as part of UNT's branding campaign.

Policy changes designed to make parking at UNT more user friendly

New policies implemented by the UNT Parking Office are intended to reduce frustration associated with parking on a growing campus where convenient spaces are difficult to find, says Scott Kangas, associate director of parking services. UNT Spring 2005 enrollment up slightly over Spring 2004 numbers


As of Jan. 31 — the 12th class day for Spring 2005 — unofficial enrollment at UNT is up 1 percent over last year. An additional 314 students are enrolled this spring, increasing the total to 29,627 from last spring's official enrollment of 29,313.

The Citigroup Foundation recently donated $50,000 to the UNT Dallas Campus Complete the Dream scholarship program. The program encourages community college graduates in the Dallas County Community College District's Rising Star program to continue pursuit of a bachelor's degree.

Student serving in Iraq completes his course work with help from UNT professors

Sgt. Oscar Lopez, a marine reservist, was reactivated last August to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom. At the time, Lopez, a UNT accounting senior, was five courses short of completing his degree, so he approached O. Finley Graves, professor and chair of the accounting department, about taking Intermediate Accounting II while serving in Iraq. He took his textbooks with him overseas and corresponded electronically with Graves about the course.

Counselor offers suggestions to support co-workers in crisis

It's often hard to know what to say to a co-worker who is experiencing a crisis situation, such as a death in the family, divorce, illness or devastating loss of property. But compassion can help you deal with a co-worker who is in crisis, says John Hipple, counseling psychologist in counseling and testing services.
