CLARK HALL CAFETERIA RENOVATION

PERTINENT FACTS

Clark cafeteria was constructed in the late 1950’s. Since that time the cafeteria has been cosmetically renovated including the addition of booth seating and a mirrored wall in 1986. A dance floor and carpet were added in 1996 for late evening programming purposes. The kitchen and serving line has remained relatively unchanged and still has the institutional concrete block tile look of the period it was constructed in. Because of its age, the ceiling is now starting to deteriorate with pieces sometimes falling.

The proposed renovation would provide a significant and needed enhancement to the facility more in-line with the expectations of our students. The estimated cost of the project is $700,000 to be paid for from Auxiliary reserves.

RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS

The President, with the concurrence of the Chancellor, recommends that the Board of Regents approve, subject to a review of food service alternatives, the Clark cafeteria renovation for a cost not to exceed $700,000.
