With more than 15 events scheduled, faculty, staff and students can share in the history, culture, life and achievements of Africans and African Americans. Events started on Feb. 4 with a seminar titled "Contributions of Nile Civilization Part II: The Untold Story" in the Eagle Student Services Center. Throughout the month the UNT Multicultural Center, along with various organizations and faculty, will sponsor films, lectures, guest speakers, a dance presentation, and musical performances including student renditions of jazz great John Coltrane. All the events will culminate with the Women of Color seminar,"Women in Politics: Breaking the Glass Ceiling." The seminar will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 28 in the University Union, Room 411. For a listing of Black History Month events, see the UNT event calendar web site at www.unt.edu/events.
