Markley accepted into Leadership TexasDianne Markley

Dianne Markley, director of UNT's office of Cooperative Education and Internships, was recently accepted into the Leadership Texas program. Women chosen for the program take part in five three-day sessions in various cities throughout the state. The workshops cover creative problem solving, state policies, social and economic issues and tools for participants to use in their professional lives.

Since its establishment in 1983, the Leadership Texas program has graduated more than 1,100 participants.

Markley has worked at UNT for more than 25 years. She received her bachelor's degree from the University of Houston and her master's from UNT. She has helped develop and guide the office of Cooperative Education and Internships into one of the top programs in the nation.

"Being accepted in this year's Leadership Texas class will offer opportunities I can hardly wait to explore," Markley says. "I look forward to meeting and learning from this group of women who make a difference in their communities and in our world, then bringing that experience back to benefit my program here at UNT."
