| Two UNT interior design graduates take ‘reality finals' on HGTV Two recent UNT graduates are making their prime-time television debuts this month on the HGTV network program, Designer Finals. Designer Finals features design students from colleges and universities throughout the nation and challenges them to "face their final test." Each episode follows a student attempting to successfully redo a room in a real family's home. The student is given only a minimal budget, a bit of mentoring advice and help from professional builders before embarking on the room makeover. The episode featuring Deborah Hernandez, a 2004 graduate of UNT's School of Visual Arts, airs Saturday at 8 p.m. on HGTV. Hernandez's task entails updating a kitchen in a 1960s ranch-style home. Monique Greene, also a 2004 SOVA graduate, appeared in an episode that aired Jan. 15. Greene updated and refurbished the dining room of a historic house.
