Do you know why the Ken Bahnsen Gym (formerly the Men's Gym) is nicknamed the Snake Pit? Following a 1970 loss to North Texas, Drake University coach Maury John, angry about the noise from the North Texas fans, told a reporter, "This is the worst damn place in the world to play basketball! This place is a snake pit!"
