Human resources providing customer service, leadership training this spring

This semester, the UNT Human Resources Department is offering training to university employees to help solve problems, increase productivity and improve the quality of their work environment and relation-ships with each other.

These courses are listed in the training and development section of the Human Resources Newsletter each month. The newsletter is sent to all benefits-eligible employees. For time and date information and course descriptions, visit www.unt.edu/hr/training

Service Advantage courses — designed to train employees in the areas of service and leadership — offered this semester include Emotional Intelligence for Leaders and UNT Service Connections.

"Those are some of our best courses," says Kristin McMeen, assistant director for human resources training. "Managers can especially benefit from the Emotional Intelligence class. I learned a great deal about how to improve my leadership just by putting the course together."

To register, call (940) 565-4246, e-mail Melanie Betterson at mbetterson@unt.edu, or register online at home.unt.edu/hr/training/treg.htm. Employees must have their supervisor's permission before taking the training courses.
