New state rep speaks at Fall 2000 commencement

Myra Crownover, the newly elected state representative for Texas House District 64, presented the commencement address to members of the Fall 2000 graduating class Dec. 16. About 1,800 students received degrees during ceremonies throughout the day.

Laura CullenTwo TAMS students have promising year ahead

The new year is shaping up well for two young people involved with the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science. One graduated from UNT in December at the age of 17. The other has been offered an internship with NASA, thanks to a virtual reality glove he developed to aid astronauts.

UNT beats SECC $100,000-goal by $28,172

Members of the UNT faculty and staff set an all time participation record in the 2000 SECC campaign by making 873 donations, an 11.5-percent increase over last year. The faculty showed the largest increase, with 89 more individual contributions than last year.
