Press your luck — Selections of work produced at the P.R.I.N.T. Press, UNT's fine arts press, are now on exhibit at the UNT Art Gallery through July 9. This group, "How 'Bout Them Cowboys," was produced by artist Hachivi Edgar Heap of Birds, an associate art professor at the University of Oklahoma.

CATHY CASHIO, public information officer in University Relations, Communications and Marketing, received a Bronze Quill Honorable Mention Award from the Fort Worth chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators at the June 1 chapter meeting. The award was for an article that appeared in The North Texan alumni magazine called "A Taste for Adventure."


CHARLES A. GUARNACCIA, associate professor of psychology, wrote "Family Environments of Women Seeking BRCA1/ BRCA2 Genetic Mutation Testing: An Exploratory Analysis," published in the April 2004 Journal of Genetic Counseling, vol. 13, issue 2.

MICHELLE HALE, publications editor and editor of InHouse@ UNT in University Relations, Communications and Marketing, received a Bronze Quill Award of Excellence from the Fort Worth chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators at the June 1 chapter meeting. The award was for four issues of InHouse@UNT, competing in the four-color internal newsletter category.

JOHNNY SUE REYNOLDS, professor and associate dean of the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management, wrote Hospitality Services: Food and Lodging, published in January 2004 by Goodheart-Willcox Publishing Co.

DANIEL G. RODEHEAVER, associate professor of sociology, wrote Militias in the New Millennium: A Test of Smelser's Theory of Collective Behavior, published by University Press of America in May. He co-wrote the study with UNT alumnus STAN WEEBER.

LAURA SHORT, special projects writer in University Relations, Communications and Marketing, received two Bronze Quill Awards of Excellence from the Fort Worth chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators at the June 1 chapter meeting. The awards were for the alumni e-newsletter, the North Texas Insider, and for an article that appeared in The North Texan alumni magazine called "Rhythm and Rhinestone."

JEAN KELLER, professor of kinesiology, health promotion and recreation and dean of the College of Education, explains how a bad economy and company job cuts promote career changes that benefit the education field in the June 12 Dallas Morning News.


UNT System Regent BURLE PETTIT praises the career and life of HOWARD SWINDLE, an investigative journalist and UNT alumnus who died June 9, in the June 10 Dallas Morning News.
