Darlene WeatherlyCelebrating scholarships through President's Council

Planes, trains, museums, zoos and beautiful homes.

These settings are just a sampling of the venues where President's Council members socialize three times a year.

"Invitations to memorable events are an appealing aspect of membership," says Darlene Weatherly, director of corporate and foundation relations and a member of the President's Council since 1998. "My husband and I enjoy the opportunity to meet other members in entertaining environments."

Council membership dues support scholarships, so members already have something in common: They all care about the heart of UNT – its students.

"We meet wonderful people who share our interests in higher education and in helping students financially," says Weatherly.

She already is looking forward to a mixer event this fall, which will be held at the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in the Fort Worth Stockyards.

"President's Council membership," says Weatherly, "is a way to have fun and make a difference all at the same time."
