UNT recognized for fund-raising efforts

UNT has been selected for a 2000 Circle of Excellence in Educational Fund-Raising Award by the Council of Advancement and Support of Education. CASE will present the award to university officials at its International Assembly in Toronto on July 14.

Nationwide, 1,289 eligible institutions competed for CASE's 2000 Circle of Excellence awards, which honor superior fund-raising programs. UNT is one of 27 colleges, universities and independent schools selected for an improvement award based on significant program growth during the past three years.

According to Office of Development records, gifts increased from $7 million in fiscal year 1997-98 to $10 million in fiscal year 1998-99 an increase of more than 40 percent.

"The development office has made gigantic strides and well deserves this award and recognition," says Bill Hunt, UNT Foundation board member and College of Business Administration advisory committee chair. "This achievement is evidence of a full-fledged professional fund-raising organization under the leadership of (Vice President of Development) Mark Moore. He has recruited top-flight development officers and has laid the foundation for a successful fund-raising effort."
