Center for Economic Education

The UNT Center for Economic Education offers outreach programs for area school districts to promote the integration of economics into K-12 curriculum. The center assists local school districts in the development of curriculum, distributes classroom-tested materials to teachers, provides training and professional development for teachers, and conducts economic education research and evaluation.

Partnerships with area school districts, the Texas Council on Economic Education, the National Council on Economic Education, the Federal Reserve System and area corporations support UNT's mission.

The center is actively involved in UNT's outreach program to improve the links between the university and K-12 educational institutions. The center supports the TCEE and the NCEE through its teacher training, material distribution and curriculum development.

The center is one of the most active of its kind in the state, training between 700 and 1,000 teachers annually. Many workshops are held at area schools, and the center works with the Federal Reserve Bank to host at least two major economic education workshops annually. The center also supports the activities of EconomicsInternational, an NCEE international economics training initiative, through its program delivery in Central and Eastern Europe.
