UNT offers several summer dining choices

You can feed your summer hunger on campus with five options for dining.

In the University Union, Avesta offers fine sit-down-and-eat dining options from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. The daily entrée with a bowl of soup or a side salad costs $6.37, or choose to have just soup and salad for $5.75. Add a dessert to either meal for $2.41. The daily menu can be seen each week at www.unt.edu/diningservice/avesta.htm.

If you're in a rush, The Corner offers an array of on-the-go items including fresh smoothies from 11 a.m. to close every day. The Corner is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. A special grilled hamburger or vegan burger combo is available in The Corner from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays for $3.50.

At mid-summer, Sodexho will take over management of The Corner, and the store will close for a short time for remodeling. A cart with snacks will be available in front of the Bookstore during the transition. Sodexho will also take over management of The Chat, which is closed through the entire summer for remodeling.

Outside of the Union, diners can find a variety of options from The Dog House stands, which are located between the Administration Building and the GAB and in the east courtyard of the Union, to the Sidelines Deli in the Student Recreation Center and Bruce Cafeteria.

The Dog House offers hot dogs, polish sausage and bratwurst with a variety of toppings from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sidelines Deli provides a selection of healthy options from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Bruce Cafeteria offers breakfast for $4.75 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., lunch for $4.95 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and dinner for $6 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. A light lunch is offered between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. The weekly menu is available at www.unt.edu/diningservices/bruce.htm. All three eateries are open Mondays through Fridays.
