Summer I numbers up 14.6 percent

Unofficial counts thus far show that summer enrollment at UNT is up this year.

According to the numbers released on the fourth class day of Summer I, 1,667 more students are attending classes this year than last year. During the 2001 Summer I session there were 11,399 students enrolled. This year that number went up to 13,066 a 14.6 percent increase.

Likewise, May Mini-mester enrollments increased for the fourth consecutive year. In 2001, there were 3,719 students enrolled in the May Mini-mester. This year, 4,113 students enrolled in the program, a 10.6 percent increase over last May's totals.

Summer II session classes begin July 8.

UNT reports summer enrollment as a cumulative number from all three class sessions May Mini-mester, Summer I and Summer II taught during May, June, July and August. All numbers are unofficial until the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board approves and certifies them. The report will be submitted in August and certified in the fall.
