FACULTY DEVELOPMENT LEAVES
PERTINENT FACTS
In 1987, the 70th Legislature encouraged universities to expand faculty development programs through a series of measures that increased flexibility in accounting for faculty activities. The University of North Texas revised its workload policy and, with the cooperation of the faculty in sharing teaching loads and through using $120,000 from local funds, plans to award a total of twenty-four developmental leaves for the upcoming academic year.
The Faculty Development Leave Committee, established under Texas Education Code 51.103 of VTCA, and following Board of Regents policies and procedures, recommends leaves for the faculty members on the attached list.
RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS
It is recommended that the Board of Regents approve Faculty Development Leaves for the twenty-four individuals named on the attached list, contingent upon the availability of funds.
