Center for Quality and Productivity

Organizational effectiveness, which includes customer satisfaction, employee satisfaction and profitability, is the focus of the Center for Quality and Productivity in the College of Business Administration.

The CQP creates and distributes information through education, outreach and research programs. COBA faculty members are encouraged to include continuous improvement topics in graduate and undergraduate courses, to make students aware of quality issues, and to give students the skills to deal with current quality concerns. Faculty members and graduate students are encouraged to conduct research in areas related to continuous improvement. The CQP is an information resource for both industry and academia, promoting idea exchange.

Business, nonprofit, government and academic organizations benefit from the center's work. The CQP was recognized internationally for its Y2K efforts; it was a sponsor of United Nations and World Bank efforts and collaborated with the Society for Information Management's Y2K working group.

The center's research activities with organizations such as Lockheed Martin have resulted in awards that bring recognition to UNT and the CQP's partner organizations.
