Eagle Drive construction to begin Sunday, slated to last all summer

UNT commuters who fight their way through highway traffic usually breathe a sigh of relief once they hit the perimeter of campus. Starting Monday, they may have to hold their breath a little longer. The city of Denton is closing lanes temporarily on Eagle Drive for street repairs beginning June 6.

UNT students win morning radio show contest, will spend summer as Wild 100.3 apprentices

Most college students land their summer jobs or internships by filling out applications and being interviewed.

UNT students Jenny Deason and Adrian Hummel, however, earned their internships by walking conspicuously behind TV reporters while they were reporting live and asking hotel and restaurant managers for gift certificates to include in prize packages.

Faculty Senate elects officers for the 2004-05 academic year

The Faculty Senate elected officers for the 2004-05 academic year during its May 12 meeting. Frances Van Tassell, associate professor of teacher education and administration and senate vice chair, was elected chair; Grant Miles, associate professor of management, was elected vice chair; and Marcia Staff, professor of finance, insurance, real estate and law, was elected secretary for a second term. The new terms begin July 1.

31 students participating in first study abroad program in Hong Kong and China

Two UNT faculty members from the College of Business Administration and the School of Merchandising and Hospitality Management are leading a group of 31 students in the university's first business and merchandising study abroad program in Hong Kong and China. The group embarked on the trip June 1.
