VON EAGLIN, assistant residence hall director for Maple Hall, received the 2005 Individual Diversity Award at the 40th annual Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers conference, Feb. 16 in Little Rock, Ark. TIFFANY FEARS, housing business manager, received the Bob Cooke Distinguished Service Award at the 40th annual Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers conference, Feb. 16 in Little Rock, Ark. Fears and MANDI CAREY, assistant residence hall director for Victory Hall, presented "Whale Done: Supervising Strategies for Spectacular Results" at the conference. It was selected as a "Top 5 Conference Best Session" Feb. 17. EUGENE FRIER, assistant residence hall director for Bruce Hall, BILLY ROUSSEL, residence hall director for Bruce Hall, and SARAH MATHIS, residence life special assistant, presented "Creating a Hall Association Dynasty" at the 40th annual Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers conference, Feb. 17 in Little Rock, Ark. MAX KAZEMZADEH, assistant professor of visual arts, created electronic and projected works that were on display at the El Centro College Gallery, Feb. 6-March 4 in Dallas. ASHLEY LYON, residence hall director for Maple Hall, prepared and presented a bid for UNT to serve as host for the 2005 Residence Advisor Conference at the 40th annual Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers conference, Feb. 16 in Little Rock, Ark. Through her efforts UNT was selected to host the conference in October 2005.
TERRANCE POHLEN, assistant professor of marketing and logistics, was appointed Feb. 23 to serve a term on the North Texas Commission Logistics Committee, an organization of North Texas industry professionals committed to keeping the Dallas-Fort Worth region among the top five logistics and supply chain centers in the country. DUANE ROBERTS, associate director of housing, assumed the role of president of the Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers for 2005-06 at the culmination of its annual conference, Feb. 17 in Little Rock, Ark. SARAH SKORPIL, organization consultant in rehabilitation, social work and addictions, was elected to a two-year term on the executive board for the Texas Rehabilitation Association, the state chapter of the National Rehabilitation Association. She received her pin at her first board meeting, Feb. 25 in Houston. JENNIFER WICKS, administrative services officer in housing, served as the 2004-05 exhibits and displays committee chair for the 40th annual Southwest Association of College and University Housing Officers conference, Feb. 15-17 in Little Rock, Ark.
