Center for Public Management

The Center for Public Management is the professional development arm of the Department of Public Administration. The center's mission is to provide continuing education and administrative services to public-sector professionals and their organizations.

The center currently offers training programs for public finance officers and emergency managers. Finance officers can satisfy the Texas requirement for investment education through monthly workshops held across the state. Emergency management seminars are sponsored for both professionals and students, featuring nationally recognized speakers. In addition, the center administers a professional certification program for emergency managers on behalf of the Emergency Management Association of Texas.

The center is also the home of the Government Treasurers' Organization of Texas, an association of public-sector investment professionals. Among the services provided to GTOT are the publication of a quarterly newsletter and coordination of the group's semiannual conferences.
